Bow Ties & Bedrooms

So I have a complete bed, with duvet and everything. I also have curtains, so can get dressed in my room now! However my pallet of things from home hasn't arrived and won't until Monday, which means buying new work clothes when I meet Nick in London tomorrow, but that's fine!

I finished the orange meant-to-be-sock thing, it is not a sock. It is a multi-purpose type garment. I have used it is a headband the last couple of nights, its really cosy and soft, I like it. I also decided that it would make a great wollen bow tie for fancy-dress type occasions..

I'm now copying a friend and making some woolen pants. I thought it was such a great idea, she's made a few and I think she has a facebook to take friends requests for pants, but I thought it'd be a good practice of increasing and decreasing stitches. It will also give me cosy pants for pjs in winter! They're going alright so far, I should finish them by tomorrow I think. Knitting while watching TV is so relaxing, I think my new housemate thinks I'm a bit strange though....

KnitKnitKnit

I'm in LANDANNNN - sort of
Moved in to my new house and it's rather empty. I'm still waiting on the vast majority of my things to be delivered - hopefully by tomorrow! So my room is looking rather bare, as well as containing a new bed with no mattress.
So I bought wool and nice new knitting needles for my 14 hour trip from Oban to Bromley and it has all gone surprisingly well. I've decided to make long knitted socks for myself and I'm doing ok with the first one. I started it on the bus and I've done a bit since aswell.

Not bad for my first try at it. I really like the orange-red colour aswell. Might have to buy more wool though..
My mum has pointed out that socks need heels..... I miiiight rethink and do something straight and boring for my first thing, we'll see what it turns into!

Last Days

I had a little niggle to make something today and I went to grab my sewing machine from my massive pile of stuff in my parents' garage/ I had plans in my head and was all excited, then I realised that my sewing box with all my thread and elastic is buried in a massive box and sealed up. So I couldn't get anything out. Figured I'd just do a little update on here instead.
I'm going to try and use up all my old fabric when I get to England before I get any new stuff, I also need to buy knitting things to embark on my new little adventure. I should have done this already to start on the bus to London, I might go and buy some tomorrow actually...
Almost time to move!
I've just had an amazing week at camp in Struan and am almost ready for the off.
Almost all packed, clothes from camp in the dryer. It's my not-so-little brother's 18th tomorrow so we'll have big celebrations then I leave tomorrow night to arrive in London town at 7.30am. Scary, but pretty exciting, stuff!
I bought my bed today, I hope it gets to the house around the same time as I do!
Anyway a friend posted this picture on her facebook and it is just so unbelievably cute that I must share

Edinburgh

I've still not had a chance to make anything, but I thought I'd post something anyway, just since it's been forever.
1. my desktop, I just think it's a really cute picture.
2. same theme, there are some reallly good ones.
3. cocktails with my mum when she visited me in Edinburgh- she snapped this of me.
4. the car I WILL be getting when I have the spare money, it's not very expensive, but its an automatic, which is a drawback I think, but a nice wee city car.
5. Harry Potter movies will end as of this Friday, I have my tickets booked and I have listened to all the audiobooks in the tun-up. No comparison to the films obviously, it'll just make me see more clearly all that they've missed out.
6. I've been listening to loads of other audiobooks, mainly of books I've read before or ones that I can't be bothered to buy but want to listen to. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking glass were some of the refresher books I listened to.

I'm planning on actually doing a blog every few days when I move, my sewing machine should be a busy wee thing then. I'll make things, mend things, alter things, it'll be brilliant. I'm also going to start knitting again so I'll have even more goodies to post about.
I move down to Bromley on the 26th of July, it's pretty exciting, but right now I'm still in Edinburgh. My placement here has been pretty interesting, I've done some new stuff and helped out where I could. Edinburgh in general is brilliant, I'm staying in my sister Lizzie's new flat right now and tehy have a bit of a mouse problem, so I had to put down poison last night which hasn't been touched yet, I've also tied up the big curtains in the living room because I heard them running up and down them and it creeped me out...
